We are always being watched…
As a parent and as a leader
Have you noticed the uncanny similarities between being under the watchful eyes of our little ones and leading as an executive? They do have some things in common…
1. Constant Surveillance:
Just like our kids notice every move we make, as executives, we know that all eyes are on us. So, remember to practice your best "I've got this under control" face, even when you accidentally spill coffee on your Zoom call!
2. Unfiltered Honesty:
Kids have a knack for brutally honest observations, and so do our employees. Be prepared for unfiltered feedback like, "Dad, why is your hair so messy?" or "Boss, did you really think that idea would work?" Embrace it, and always keep a sense of humor!
3. Negotiation Skills:
Negotiating with a stubborn toddler over vegetables? Piece of cake! It's excellent training for those high-stakes negotiations with clients and stakeholders. After all, who can resist your persuasive tactics once you've convinced a three-year-old to eat broccoli?
4. Multitasking Madness:
Both parenthood and leadership require mastering the art of multitasking. From answering emails while playing "tea party" to handling a board meeting while helping with homework, we're the ultimate multitasking superheroes!
Finally… remember, folks, whether it's in the boardroom or at the family dinner table, a little humor goes a long way!
