As I coach executives on their presentations, I recommend having a visual that will support the emotion - not a slide jacked with data.
So in presentations, instead of just talking to a group without anything behind you, try supporting it with a singular visual per point - not a data slide or a slide full of bullets. The most impactful presentations are the ones that have an image but only have a singular word, or just a few words on it.
Think of it as music in a movie that helps drive home the emotion of a scene. The image on the slide helps put people in the right mindset to hear your message. Avoid bullets or repeating what you are talking about. Have a picture that supports your message. There are plenty of AI tools that can create those for you.
You may not have their full attention by voice alone. Also - having the approach of an image per message (with only a few words at best) will help set the stage to drive home your point.
Now if you have to share a chart or two - go ahead, but try the approach of evoking emotion and you will get a lot further. You can always have those charts on a PDF they can download after the event.
